Dr. Rachel Savoy joined East Memphis Pet Hospital in December of 2022. She is from a Navy family and moved frequently as a child, but graduated from high school in the Mid-South, and received her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Memphis in 2009. In 2013 she graduated from vet school at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Following graduation, she completed an internship with Memphis Veterinary Specialists. She spent the next 7 years practicing in Denver, Colorado, including 3 years as a Medical Director. Nashville became home for a year, and she provided relief services to area veterinary practices, but in 2022, Memphis called her home! She and her husband, Eric, couldn’t be happier to be back in the Mid-South! Her professional interests include feline medicine, emergency and critical care, internal medicine, and community medicine. When she isn’t working, you can find her outside: skiing, hiking, and running are a few of her favorite activities. She also loves traveling, especially for philanthropic spay/neuter campaigns in developing countries. She and her husband have 2 cats, “Clyde” and “Albert”.
